Peermont's Emperors Palace Supports Local Businesses

Peermont's flagship, Emperors Palace has always prided itself on it’s CSI initiatives and during the last few months, despite the tough economic climate, has come forward to assist learners and educators stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The well-known entertainment and leisure resort donated R20-million to procure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for 156 schools in Tembisa, Kathorus, Daveyton and Etwatwa through one of its Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment vehicles, the Infrastructure Fund. The project kicked off in September last year with the selected schools receiving masks, shields, gloves, aprons, soap and cleaning materials. In a further effort to help, the Palace of Dreams hired local small businesses and co-operatives to make the masks. One of the latter that benefited from the project was the Dorcas Foundation in Tembisa which, since the beginning of the initiative, has produced just over 23 000 masks. Here Emperors Palace Trust Administrator, Makomane Ntabo is pictured during a recent visit to the Foundation where he watched members, Patricia Mbatha and Annah Macheke make some masks.
