Emperors Palace Assists Bulang Mamati Co-operative

In September last year Peermont's Emperors Palace set about assisting learners and educators stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing 169 schools in Ekurhuleni with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at a total cost of R20-million. Apart from shields, gloves, aprons, soap and cleaning materials, learners and educators at these schools also received masks with the Palace of Dreams contracting local businesses to make the masks to further empower local communities. Here Emperors Palace Trust Administrator, Thomas Masango is pictured visiting the Bulang Mamati Co-operative in Klippoortjie Park where the Co-ops’ Sipati Mohale shows him how they make the masks. To date Mohale and her team, along with the Revelation Co-operative and Bana Bamohale Co-operative, both in Buhle Park, have produced an impressive 48 976 masks since the project started.
